Hey y'all!
For starters, I have to admit something. When I started this blog, I thought I was gonna have fun writing down what I did each day. And in the beginning, I did. But now I kinda feel like I'm hitting writer's block or something. I will keep writing to keep you updated, but also because this is kinda like a journal for my older self. But it might be that the blogs will be shorter and less frequent/consistent.
Anyways, here's what happened today.
So today was the first day of school, though it wasn't really a school day, as only the new students were at school. We got information about the school and were able to leave shortly before lunch.
The first few minutes were rather confusing, as we didn't know what to do and where to go. Some of us already got a schedule for their courses while others - like me - didn't. After a while, we found our way to where we had to be, which was one of the gyms, because apparently there are multiple. We got a little introduction PowerPoint, and after that, the international students were sent to the library and the others disappeared into the building.
In the library, we got some more information that was more directed towards us exchange students. We also played a game that was a bit like bingo. Except that in the squares, there were things like 'Someone from Belgium', 'Someone left-handed', 'Someone who likes to read'... and we had to go around to find people that fit the description in the squares. It was quite fun and a nice way to get to know the people. After that, we got some documents and were allowed to leave the school.
The four of us went downtown to do some shopping for school supplies and grabbed lunch at Tim Horton's. After that, we had to walk all the way back up the hill and to our houses. We nearly melted because of the scorching sun and the lack of trees. Somehow we made it, though I am surprised I hadn't evaporated because of how much I was sweating.
Nonetheless, it was overall a good day, and I'm nervous AGAIN for tomorrow, because then it will be the first official school day where we'll meet the teachers and regular students.
Once again, nervous regards, Cupcake
