Hey y'all
By the time of writing, I visited Niagara Falls the day before yesterday. Due to a busy traveling schedule and fatigue, I only got to writing it now. Well, actually a couple of minutes ago. But, I accidentally refreshed the page just when I was done, so now everything's gone and I have to start all over again.
Anyways, after we had breakfast, we were once again on a bus, this time to a viewing point at Niagara Falls where we could see the ones (because apparently there are three sets of waterfalls in the area) that created a massive cloud of water drops. And by massive I mean Massive. I think it was about the height of an apartment building.
There we also went on a boat that took us through that cloud of splashed-up water. We did get a poncho before boarding, so we didn't get that wet. It was a lot of fun, as we also did a bit of a concert by singing songs like 'Umbrella' and 'Man After Midnight'.
Afterwards we had free time for lunch. I think the initial plan was to eat with all the twelve Flemish together, but most of them disappeared when I bought a magnet, so I ended up eating with two others. The restaurant we ate in was on a street that was like a combination of Disneyland and the Strip in Las Vegas, with a whole lot of neon lights inviting us into whatever building they belonged to. During our free time, we also did some other things besides eating. One of those was a haunted house, and it was the first time I ever did one. When going in, we could choose from three 'difficulty levels'. The three of us were like 'you know what, let's go for hardcore!', which was the highest. Well... Let's just say I never screamed so much and hard in my entire life. In the beginning, we laughed at ourselves whenever we got jump-scared, but at the end, our fight-or-flight responses kicked in. (Apparently, I flight 'n freeze.) I don't regret a thing, though. Next to that, we also went to a place that we thought was a restaurant, but turned out to be more of an arcade. We had some fun walking around there and gaping at the flashy machines.
Once lunchtime was over, we headed back to the bus which took us to the whirlpool jet boat tours. There, we got in an open boat that took us to and through wild parts of the river. On those wild parts, there weren't only high waves but also deep dips. Each time we went through one of those, a big wave would wash over the boat and soak us all. One time there was a wave so big it genuinely felt like we were underwater for a second. Now, we did get a poncho, but that was to keep us warm rather than dry.
After a change of clothes, we got back on the bus that then took us to the hotel. There we had dinner, I packed my stuff, went back to the dining room because the organization wanted to 'share some information', but ended up giving more of a speech, and headed to the pool where I swam with some other Flemish and some Walloons that were already at the pool.
Though we didn't do a lot of different activities, it still was a very busy but really awesome day.
Hopefully, I do post this version before I refresh the page.
Hopeful regards, Cupcake
